In this universe, Sgrub never existed. The revenge cycle never happened, Alternia was spared, and the Empire lived on. The twelve young trolls, formerly destined to be the last survivors of their species, instead grew up to have normal lives. That is to say, they survived long enough to be recruited into the Empire fleet. However - Karkat's mutant red blood, and the stigma against it, stayed very much the same. And a mere few perigee into their training, the closest of his friends were forced to put their lives on the line to save his, formulating a last ditch effort to get him out of Empire space before he could be culled. This plan was only part way successful - though Karkat and Kanaya escaped, the rest of their friends were left for dead in Empire hands.
Two sweeps later, on the edges of Imperial space, Karkat has become a captain in the Rebellion - a scattered force of anti-Imperial freedom fighters, bent on bringing down the Condesce and the exploitive troll society she dictates. But when a chance encounter with a long lost friend proves to him that the others are still alive, Karkat takes his ship deep into Empire territory, in a risky last ditch effort to fix the mess he left behind.
Factiontorn is a sans-sgrub troll revolution AU written and drawn by Quix, Harry, Gogol, Hannah, Aki, and Tess.

FT Sollux from the brief period when they were all in troll boot camp. He’s holding some kind of troll plasma rifle, which is probably all they’re allowed to use until they specialize when they’re older.
As it is, it’s probably too big for his skinny nerd arms to wield effectively.

Oneiro Nereid is my creepy mind-fucking highblood from Factiontorn who’s job is basically to be unsettling and to brainwash people. She’s the one responsible for messing Sollux up so bad. She is also ostensibly snake themed.
